Inside the unit

Only trained people, inside the unit

Everyone who crosses the line has to be provably trained, including the ones who arrived yesterday. Turnaround crews, certificates and permits, proven before anyone crosses the line.

What you are held to

Seveso III · NIS2 · safety certificates

  • Only trained and certified people in the zone, demonstrable after the fact
  • Permit-to-work and site induction tied to the person, and never to the paperwork
  • Physical protection of the systems that run the plant, under NIS2

Where it breaks today

  • The turnaround crew list arrives as a spreadsheet the day before they land
  • Safety certificates are tracked in a folder. A lapsed one still badges in on Monday
  • Induction is done at the gate under time pressure, by someone who wants the job to start

A turnaround compresses a year of onboarding into a week. The safety case does not get easier because you are in a hurry. It gets harder to prove.

Chemical & Process

Scenario

A 3-week turnaround

11 contracting firms, several hundred people, a fixed start date and a safety file that has to survive an inspection.

Firms load their own crews

2 weeks out, each contractor uploads its people, safety certificates and insurance through its own portal login.

Blocked before they travel

A missing or expiring certificate is flagged to the contractor while there is still time to fix it.

Access scoped to unit and shift

Each person gets the units they are working in, for the shift pattern they are working, and nothing more.

The site closes itself down

On the final day access ends by itself, and the evidence pack for the safety file is already assembled.

What changes

  • Onboarding moves from your gatehouse to the contracting firm, weeks before the work starts
  • A lapsed certificate closes the access the day it lapses, without anyone noticing it first
  • The inspection answer, who was in which unit, trained for what, is produced same day

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can contracting firms onboard their own people?

Yes. Each contracting company gets its own portal login and loads its people, safety certificates and insurance itself, weeks before the work starts. Your gatehouse stops being the onboarding desk.

What happens when a safety certificate expires mid-turnaround?

The access closes on the day the certificate lapses. Expiry is watched by the platform. A lapsed certificate stops being something a person has to notice first.

Can access be scoped to a specific unit and shift pattern?

Yes. A grant carries the units the person works in and the shift pattern they work. Nothing else on the site opens for them.

The first step

Start with 1 site and 1 population.

You judge something that runs on your own site. Your access systems and readers stay where they are. If it earns its place, we extend it site by site.
